Re: Need airsoft repairs?
Hey Jarod, I have a Dboys M4 S-System that is really screwed up, I think hop up wise. I also have a Western Arms 1911 that needs some work. Any experience with these?

Re: Need airsoft repairs?
Most gearboxes are similar to each other, just different shaped casings. The internal mechanisms are almost identical as you have three gears, a antireversal latch, a tappet plate, the spring, the spring guide, piston head, piston and the cylinder. The only real differences are metal or plastic bushings and how well they are shimmed (which is basically how many or few washers there are) So for the gearbox experience once you have opened up one brand you have opened them all and the higher grade you go all it means is the more careful you have to be putting it back together and shimming it.
1. If the scar stopped firing then it could be the fuse/wiring (easy fix), or your motor may have given out (easy replacement I've got a spare), A trigger problem (annoying must take apart gearbox) it happened to an m-14 I'm working on, or most likely your gearbox is jammed (not so easy but not too expensive) all of these would cause the motor to stop. I bought a broken ak 47 from a boneyard and took the gearbox apart, turned the gears and re shimmed it and thats all it took. So I had a new ak for $40 but to answer your question yes I have experience with that problem but not with your specific brand. P.S. do you still have the MP5?
2. If the m-4 is having hop up problems that could be relatively inexpensive. My room mates gun wasn't even firing bb's thru the barrel so I simply took the hop up apart and cleaned everything ( especially the gasket inside) and it worked for a little bit but it happened again soon after that, it turned out he kept getting a huge amount of sand down the barrel and we had to replace the barrel and hop up for him but I took the old barrel and hop up, thoroughly cleaned it and put it on a harder firing gun and it works perfectly now. so once again, experience with problem but not specific brand. Message me more details about whats going on and I can tell you better. But I've taken two different brands of M-16s apart and they are basically the same as my brothers M-4.
3. As for the gas guns, I have sucessfully taken apart a .357 magnum revolver and put it back together and my room mate has a tokyo marui 1911 but I've never gotten into it but I may be able to figure it out. They arent that hard and actually have less parts then their electric counterparts. The revolver was probrably the hardest lol. If I don't feel comfortable I won't take it apart. lol
4. For the western arms experience, it depends on what type of gun you are talking about more than the brand. More details and I can tell you better.
Thanks for the hits guys and if your interested I will do my best to fix these problems as every gearbox/gun I have worked on works after I got through with them. It will be much less expensive than buying a new drop in gearbox or hop up lol.
