Cheap Mines Empty Cheap Mines

This Powdered landmine instructable is pretty awsome. Its as much effective as madbulls mine, cept its narrower, goes deeper into the ground, and uses a CO2 canister instead of Green Gas, and Ive got a 15 small canisters of CO2 to waste.

A few videos of people using/testing it is at the bottom

The estimated cost to create a frame each one is about $2.50, and if we spread 5-10 mines across a small path, pretty effective, more effective than one of Maddogs

List of where to find supplies-
PVC Caps, Electical Tape, Roofing nail- Home Depot/Lowes
Powder- Wal-Mart
Plasic tube- Its a freakin pen cap from a clear bic pen

Anything that explodes, is held together with electrical tape, and involves shrapnel (ie, a roofing nail) does not in any way sound safe to me.

Yea i no, but No sharp edges are sticking out, and the explosion is the same you would find with the maddog product, and if you want to go against that, then your a hypocryte for playing airsoft

Brandt, that was uncalled for. You have no right to allege me as a hypocrite when I was stating a safety concern. I'll leave it at that.

Yeaaaaaaah...About that Nathan...

We tested them in the late evening at Wyat's house, and after triggering one myself, I believe these devices are effective and fairly safe, but still have a few kinks to work out (namely, the device exploding and sending parts flying around a certain team leader's sister's foot...). As of now, I am still not in favor of these as I do not believe they will give you the advantage you think they will in the field, Brandt, but if you can figure out better ways of holding the mines together I think this idea could be workable.

ugh....

i dont know why you are making a big deal about the mines. they were safe enough. they didnt have any parts that i could see that would be a safety issue.

the thing about parts flying everywhere is an exaggeration. the only thing that comes out is air(when empty). that is why we use powder because i doubt people will be in severe pain when they get powder on them...

the naill is at the very bottom and also it will stay in place when some one steps on the co2 canister the nail will be in the co2 and unable to move. of course these are prototypes, we should talk to the field admins when we are ready to use them at a game.

In this case, I agree with Nathan. Although Nathan was not there when we tested it with baby powder, it performed very well. The issue that Sean raised was one time out of 5-6 tries. What happened was greatly exaggerated by Sean. Everything performed well, but the CO2 cartrige popped out. There was no chance of injury involved. Sean also failed to mention that he tested it and it worked fine. I think this is a great investment, and it works very well for being only $3. When Brandt can make more, then could really be a force multiplier.

Your still wrong. The small CO2 cylinder and the piece of PVC could not hurt a human in any way.

The PVC pipe, the crew-on cap for the pipe, and the Co2 cylinder. In the instance I was referring to, these parts came apart when Lily stepped on the mine and it exploded. The parts were all intact, but they flew off everywhere.
